I am in my final year of my bachelor’s in electrical engineering. Last semester I studied abroad in Melbourne, Australia where I got to learn about engineering topics from a new perspective.
I am really passionate about increasing the representation of women in engineering and I have been involved in organizations like WEECS and SWE since my freshman year. This year, I am looking forward to planning events that can get younger women and girls excited about careers in engineering!

Andrea Mugroo, Secretary & Treasurer

My name is Andrea, and I am in my sophomore computer science major at UCF. I was born and raised in New York then moved to Florida for my undergraduate degree. Growing up, I’ve always had a fascination with biology and mathematics, but truly enjoyed working with technology; I took any and every tech classes my school offered! At UCF, I’ve taken multiple general education courses and many courses related to my major of computer science. I’ve grown my love for creating something from nothing, and learning different programming languages including C and Java. Aside from being the Treasurer and Secretary of WEECS, I am also a part of EXCEL, GEMS, and am a STEM Ambassador, in which I represent UCF in advocating for STEM education to students in K-12 schools around Orlando.

Aside from school, I love hanging with my friends and meeting new people! I also enjoy photography, going to Disney World, and watching movies. I have a great passion for adventure and hope to travel the world one day.

Ayanna Ivey, Promotion and Digital Marketing Coordinator

I am a senior Computer Engineering major at the University of Central Florida. I love creating new things both on and off of a computer. I have served on the executive board of the Caribbean Students’ Association and I have been a member of the National Society of Black Engineers.

Outside of school, I enjoy baking, taking care of my turtle and making YouTube videos.
