Conferences and Workshops
Conferences are a place to meet colleagues, clients, employers,
and many other interesting people. The connections made there are far
more valuable than the curriculum they offer. It is also a chance to see
first hand some cutting edge products, projects, and methodologies you may
have read about but haven't gotten the opportunity to work with.
One of the main reasons people attend conferences is for the
workshops that are offered to attendees. A workshop is a gathering or
training session which may be several days in length. It emphasizes problem-solving,
hands-on training, and requires the involvement of the participants. Here you will
have the opportunity to gain knowledge, share experiences, and network with people
who have similar interests.
Here is a list of engineering/computer science Conferences and Workshops that will be happening soon.
Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing
Tuscon, Arizona
September 30 - October 3, 2009
"The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a
series of conferences designed to bring the research and career
interests of women in computing to the forefront. Presenters are
leaders in their respective fields, representing industrial, academic
and government communities. Leading researchers present their current
work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today's technology
fields, including computer science, information technology, research and engineering.
Past Grace Hopper Celebrations have resulted in collaborative proposals,
networking, mentoring, and increased visibility for the contributions of
women in computing."
