Who We Are

Who are we?

We are undergraduate, graduate, and faculty women in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science affiliated with IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE).

We receive support from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, thanks to the support and encouragement of Dr. Issa Batarseh and Dr. Charles E. Hughes. Events are also sponsored by the Orlando's IEEE Section. We hope to create an academic and social climate which is conducive to both men and women in EECS at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Our mission is to foster the success of women in EECS by recruiting, retaining, and encouraging the women in majoring in CS, CE, and EE. We do this by providing services which any female EECS student may use.

Why are we here?

We meet every month to organize social and academic events as well as maintain ongoing projects, such as running a peer mentoring program for new women undergraduate and graduate students.

How can I get involved?

We rely on volunteers for many of our programs. If you would like to become involved, consider volunteering to be a peer mentor or mentee. This program requires only a small time commitment, but provides an invaluable experience for both you and the women you work with!

Also, if you have an idea in mind for any event or program we can have, let us know and help us make it a reality.
