Board of Directors

Megan Danh, President

Hey, I’m Megan! I’m a junior in computer engineering, with a research focus on machine learning and computer vision. This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to intern with NASA on their EGSSim team. I’m super thrilled to collaborate with WEECS’ other officers to create an empowering and inclusive resource to help girls in EE, CpE, and CS to connect and succeed in their fields. This year, I hope to promote members’ proficiency in networking and hone their technical skill set. In my free time, I love watching Gilmore Girl, sewing, and listening to Mitski or The Marias. I’m so excited to see how WEECS will grow this year and what we will all accomplish!

Jordan Merkel, Vice President

Hi I’m Jordan! I’m currently a junior at UCF and I’m studying Computer Engineering, doing the Digitial VLSI Circuits Track. This summer, I interned at Northrop Grumman and worked in their Missions Systems sector. When I heard about the opportunity to relaunch WEECS, I was super excited to help create a supportive and colaborative environment for other women in my field. I’m very passionate about this club and I can’t wait to see how it grows!!

Mikaella Penagos, Treasurer

Hello! My name is Mikaella and I am the treasurer for WEECS. I’m majoring in electrical engineering with a power and renewable energy track, as well as a minor in music. I love being involved on campus as l am a UCF tour guide, a former LEAD scholar, and on eboard for a professional music fraternity called Sigma Alpha lota. Additionally, I’m currently an intern for Orlando Utilities Commission, where I work at the Stanton Energy Center. I’m very excited for this semester and hope to see everyone soon!

Labiba Ibrahim, Secretary

Hello everyone! I am Labiba and I am an Electrical Engineering major. I am very interested in chip manufacturing and am currently working in the cleanroom at UCF. I joined WEECS because I wanted to meet fellow electrical and other women engineers. As the secretary of WEECS, my goal is to make WEECS a place where we can have fun, share our ideas, and grow together.

Myesha Rahman, Public Relations

Hi, I’m Myesha! I am currently in my third year and I’m studying electrical engineering. I am a Texas Instruments undergraduate fellow and a co-op at the UCF microelectronics lab. I am thrilled to be a part of the WEECS relaunch and I hope to foster a welcoming and inclusive space for women in engineering. I am so excited to serve as public relations director and see the clubs growth!
